  • I've never stayed at a timeshare before but RCI has one in Tybee which is the island right off Savannah. I would TOTALLY recommend a trip there. Tybee is pretty developed (think Hilton Head) which is good if you like that, bad if you don't, but regardless Savannah is AMAZING!!

It's a beautiful old city with lots to do, amazing is an understatement. There are also lots of places close by or close enough for a day trip that you can explore, for outdoorsy folks as well as nature haters. One of those places you can visit is my sea turtles :)

Yes!  And you can go visit my empty, non-selling house in Savannah and kick dirt on it for me!!

But seriously, it will be cold there in December.  Most of the time anyway unless you happen to hit one of those odd days.

ETA: I didn't mean for that to sound bitchy.  I just wanted you to know that it will not be bathing suit (or even shorts) weather.  I think my house not selling bitterness took over.

Is your vaca in Feb or Dec? Schwartz was right that it isn't shorts and swimsuit weather (in either month!) I was comparing it to CT and it is warmer. If you want warm enough for playing in the ocean you'll have to head down to Southern Florida.

I loved St. Maarten.  There are like 10 beach bars that have 1$ beers!  Cheers!

  • We went to the RCI property in Mexico called "The Grand Mayan Palace" this summer and it was amazing!!! It was about 30mins away from Cancun. There is so much to do at the resort that you don't need to leave. We went on one day trip to Xel-Ha (an all-inclusive nature park where you can snorkel, lay by the beach, eat and drink as much as you want (you can pay extra to swim with Dolphin and Manatte). There are serve yourself beer taps troughtout the park and several bars that will make you whateven you want admission is $79 for the entire day). I can send pictures if you want.
