Recently, I've been getting the question, "when are due?" a lot at work. I'm due December 8th, which also happens to be the last day of classes this semester at the university I work at.

When I tell coworkers, "I'm due the last day of classes" sometimes they just accept the answer and move onto another question (i.e. "are you excited?!" or "do you know what you're having?")

Occasionally (more than I'd like to admit), however, someone...who works at the university and is familiar with the semester schedule...will say something to effect of, "That's great! You'll get the whole summer off!"

Wait, what?? This is what I currently look like at 31 weeks pregnant...

And you think I'm due in MAY!? For crap's sake, people...have you never seen a pregnant woman before?

When I called the hospital to set up my appointment for our ultrasound, the nurse setting up the appointment asked me when I was due.

Me: "December 3rd."

Nurse: *typing* "And is that 2010 or 2011?"

Me: Indifferent "I certainly hope 2010!"

Nurse: *long pause* "Oh my God. Yes. Of course."

I'd be really frightened if someone thought anyone could currently be due in December 2011....are you just planning ahead to make an ultrasound appointment for a year from now??

Well, for the record, I WAS about your size when I was only 3- 4 months pregnant with DS#1. But at the same time, I'd definitely think you meant the last day of this semester, and not the last day of next semester.
