Pelvic Pain similar to menstrual cramps

First, my stomach is not hard. It is the normal firmish feel.

WTH are these? I am giving them until 9 (EST) to call the OB. Walking is intolerable. Every step it reminds me that this hurts.

I've tried the cat/cow yoga positions to see if it was LOs position, but they have not helped.

Re: Pelvic Pain similar to menstrual cramps

  • I've had it and my OB just always says it's the normal round ligament pain. Mine comes and goes. .

  • Just rest and make sure to drink lots of water. Its normal aches and pains of being pregnant.

I find I get that pain if I did a lot of activity that day. Walking around the block with my husband can be very painful and crampy. As long as the pain goes away after a while of resting and doesn't get stronger and come in waves, its fine.

  • I had some yesterday too, I was busting my butt cleaning for company and just think I over did it. They went away once I layed down and relaxed for a bit.

  • I experienced this one night a few weeks ago. I had the very low cramping that came in waves throughout the night. I just kept drinking water & I was fine by morning. I asked my doctor at my last appointment & she said since it went away, it's fine. If it had persisted through the next day, then I should have called.

  • I was having terrible cramps when I was having an excessive number of Braxton Hicks (not just during the contractions but pretty much 24/7). Once we got the BHs under control the cramping went away after a few days.

It could be other things like round ligament pain, but if you're in that much discomfort, it sounds like a call to the OB would be warranted. (Be prepared, though, to lose the rest of your day; when I called mine about my cramps they sent me straight to L&D).

  • Hey girl. I had some similar pain almost a week ago that lasted for 6 days. I finally called my midwife because I was pretty worried. I felt as though I were on my period (and even my period isn't as bad as what I was feeling.) My midwife listened to all of my symptoms and then told me a lot of what the gals said above. That it was round ligament pain and the result of my pelvis and uterus stretching. She recommended to lay down and to also take warm baths. After a few days they did end up going away. She also told me that I didn't need to worry unless the pains were timable - like they were coming every 10 minutes for an hour. I'd call your OB just to be safe. It never hurts. Here's to hoping you feel better soon!
