Number of days between ER & ET?

I've read on here 3-5 days, but my RE said a couple of days (which means 2.??..).

How long between is usual???

Which has the best outcome???

..can't ya's tell I'm getting nervous..??..image

TIA

Re: Number of days between ER & ET?

  • Most are either 3 or 5 day. Sometimes a four day could be possible, I have never heard of anyone having a 2 day.

As for outcome, there really is no stats that show one is better then the other. Some Drs try to do 5 day to know if the embryos make it to blast, other Drs feel that getting the eggs back in their natural enviorment is better, but the rate of success seem to be the same for both.

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • I haven't seen 2 days either ~ was just wondering ~ I typed everything down as she was talking ~ she may have meant 3..??.. ~ Don't really know ~ was nervous on the call, and misunderstood alot then had to call back after I received all the meds ~ freaked me out ~ received Cetrotide (never had), Pregnyl (never had), Progesterone suppositories (usually used Prometrium in the beginning, then they switched me to Crinone), and they also sent Doxycyclene, Prometrium(..??..), Methylprednisolone...

I go tomorrow for US/BW, and further instructions.  It will be CD15.

I am still waiting for them to tell me when ER will be (and so is DH).  My IUI's were around CD13....although this time they had me on Estrace and Lupron to prevent my cycle from starting sooner since last month I O'd so early.

I'm very confused and nervous.  Wish I had some sort of schedule/directions to go by instead of flying by the seat of my pants like I did in Corp. America.... mergers~turnovers~buyouts~...uuuggghhh...and this is supposed to be easier..??..

    NOT.

    TIA!

  • Yeah it is so hard with the scheduling and not knowing when everything is going to take place, plus it being all new to us and having no clue what is going on around us. All you can do is take it one day at a time.

    Good Luck!

  • It'll be between 2-6 days, with 3 or 5 being most common. ?2dts are usually reserved for cases with very few fertilized embryos (like 2 or less) and even under those circumstances many REs try for a 3dt. ?

My ER and ET dates were never close to IUI dates as far as cds, so don't worry too much about what cd you're on. ?When you're doing IVF it's a different ball game. ?Whatever?suppressant?you're on (commonly Lupron) will ensure that you don't O early.

  • Not on anything but Follistim now.

I only had one folly on Thursday ~ 14.7 ~ I usually had 3-8 before.  Was this due to the Lupron & Estrace..??..

    TIA
