First birthday help please!

What theme did you choose? How did you choose it? Games? Favors? Cake?

I'm so stuck on the theme, I really can't decide what to do. If you are planning your party or already made one please give me ideas! If you have any pix or links that you can share, please do.

TIA!

  • I'm doing a cupcake theme for my girls next month.

A cute site to browse is 1stwishes.com.

  • We did a luau theme for ours. I wasn't a big fan of the themes on some of the websites I looked at, plus I needed something that would work for a boy and girl so the luau theme was an easy compromise. We didn't do favors or games because the only kids were mine or my brothers, I just bought some crafty things from the dollar bin at Michaels for them.

ETA: I bought decorations at Dollar Tree over the summer so that also set the colors.

  • we did Thing 1 Thing 2 Seuss theme -  got the boys the thing 1 and 2 shrits to wear at the party... bought headbands that have Seuss hats and the blue hair for the kids (and some adults!) to wear.... lots of seuss decorations- cake in seuss colors, etc.  Didn't do any formal games - just had a bunch of balls, hula hoops and stuff for kids to play with.  It was a great time.
  • Thanks for the ideas so far!

  • We are doing owls.

"It's been a Hoot, and so much fun, our little two are turning 1!!"

    "Look WHOOO's turning one"

You get the point. I think it will be simple enough, but cute! :) I found most of the stuff I'm using on etsy.com

  • Well, I haven't even had the girls yet, but I did start thinking about their 1st birthday. I think I'm just going to use a color as a theme, and I'm thinking pink. I imagined a picture of them on the invitation that read, "We're tickled PINK to be turning 1!"

Could change though, I do have a while :)

  • I want to do a circus theme with cotton candy and popcorn machines, etc.
  • we went with "sugar and spice" as our theme...got a bunch of those big lollipops as table decorations and gave them out to the older kids as favors...just had a bunch of balls and hulu hoops and bubbled out for hte kids to play with and did bbq for the food...it was oh so yummy.
  • I did a circus theme for my son's first birthday, no idea yet on what I will do for the twins :)

Here are the pictures from his first birthday:
