So I guess I need to start transitioning Hunter from bottles to drinking only from a cup... He drinks water from one of those Thermos-type cups with a built in straw (he never really cared for sippy cups), but he will not drink milk from it! I've tried, but he'll take a sip, realize it's milk and pushes the cup away. I pour it back in a bottle and he happily drinks every single drop. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!!!!

Re: Need tips for Moving LO from bottle to cup...
We did it cold turkey with Alex. We bought the Born Free bottles that have a sprout and handle, like Clari mentioned and he's been using them since he turned a year old. He never complained once, I think as long as he had his milk he was a happy camper! Good luck!

He won't drink BM from a cup because he associates that with the bottle. When you begin whole milk, be sure to ONLY give it to him in a cup, never in a bottle. If he only knows it in a cup, he will not even think its an option to drink it out of a bottle.
In the meanitme, put the sippy filled with water or a little watered down juice on his food tray at every single meal and offer sips inbetween bites. Soon he will catch on and begin picking it up on his own.
Clari / Bridge offered good advice.
Something else I thought of was buy a sippy cup (or 2) of his favorite character, and dedicate that cup to only milk (ie, Mickey is for milk, all others for juice/water). Once he gets used to it, then hopefully the transition to mixed cups will be fine.

I transitioned Spencer at 11 months from a bottle to a sippy cup. We started with the Nuby ones, as their mouth pieces were similar to a nipple bottle. What I did was only put water in the bottle and formula in the cup. It took a day to transition, and we never turned back.

Thanks for all the advice! Unfortunately, when I transitioned him to whole milk at around 11 months or so, I continued to use bottles
, so I've got to just be patient and work on getting him on the cup only....
