Anyone not had an u/s yet?

Hi ladies. I have just discovered the Aprill 2011 board! I don't know why I haven't been here sooner?

Anyway my 2nd appointment is tomorrow and we get to hear the heartbeat! I am soo excited/nervous! I was wondering if anyone else has not had an u/s yet? It seems like alot of people have had an early one to see the sac and embryo, and can also see the heartbeat. When was/is your first u/s?

I had a transvaginal u/s at my first apt 6w6d...i have my second appt thurs, hoping to at least hear the hb...if not another u/s! Good luck tomorrow...how far along are you?

I will be 13 weeks tomorrow. My very first appointment was at 9w and it was just the standard medical history questions, then blood work and urine sample. Tomorrow is my 2nd appointment and I think it is just hearing the heartbeat? I just thought it was weird that they never did any "confirmation" u/s? But maybe that is standard in some places to just wait until 20 weeks?

I had a transvaginal ultrasound at 8w2d to date the pregnancy and check for viability. This is standard at my OB's practice.

I had one at 8 weeks (office policy), but didn't have one with ds until 20 weeks (office policy at that time).

I have one tomorrow! It is only to date the pregnancy, otherwise it is office policy to wait until 20 weeks. I'm so glad I don't have to wait!

I think 20 wks. is the normal time for your first u/s. I am choosing to have one done today at 12 1/2 wks. for the NT scan. This is optional though and not necessary. So...today will be my first u/s and I can't wait Big Smile

I went in at 8 weeks, hoping they'd do a US or at least a Doppler. No luck, though-- just blood work, urine sample, and a long conversation about healthy habits, family history, etc. My husband and I are both having a hard time thinking of the pregnancy as being real, because we haven't actually seen the baby yet.

I have an appointment for another checkup on October 15, at which point I'll be a little over 12 weeks. They don't do in-house ultrasounds, apparently, so have a separate appointment the same day for a US at a place that specializes in them. Kinda a pain, but I don't care-- I'm excited! I didn't ask, but I'm guessing I won't have another US until 20 weeks.

I'm 13 weeks and 3 days and just had my first OB appointment.. we heard the heartbeat for the first time. She said they usually do a dating U/S earlier to make sure there is a heart beat etc but since I'm pretty far along and we heard a heartbeat at this appointment there was no point in doing one till 18 or 20 weeks.
