DH outed us on FB!

Yesterday was MIL's birthday.  When DH asked her to come over for dinner on her birthday, she told him that FIL had plans for them already.  They came over Monday though.

Then on FB yesterday, we saw that she posted she was having dinner with her other son, DIL, and granddaughter.  We were both sort of angry because it seems she favors BIL/SIL (DH thinks it's because they have a baby). In his anger, DH posted, "Sorry we don't have a baby for you to spend your birthday with, but happy birthday from your grandson in heaven"

Aside from all the drama, he just told FB about our m/c!  I was going to wait until October 15th so it wouldn't be overkill, like we were wanting sympathy and attention because of our loss.

    Oh boy.  I can only imagine what kind of drama that would cause in my or DH's family.  Whew.

    Yes. This. I'd be more upset at BIL/SI that you guys weren't invited by BIL/SIL to dinner as well. It seems like the mom knew that you would be upset if she went over to BIL/SIL and therefore gave the vague "FIL has something planned already."

    I am sorry he did that, but totally understand where his heart was in that moment. I was so close to typing something very similar in response to a post my Mother wrote about her 4 grandchildren the other day. There is a delete comment option on FB.

    Ouch, super sensative situation.

    My heart goes out to you and your husband I know he must be really upset to have written something like that.

    I would still do the October 15th post maybe in a supportive role and mention your LO

    I can see why your DH was so upset.  I hope the response from your MIL isn't mean/harsh.  I hope others are supportive of the post.

    MIL is so dumb that she didn't even get that DH was upset. So there wasn't any drama...thank goodness!
