I can't go to my normal girl right now and I have no idea where else to go. I need a hair cut (nothing major, no color - just chopping off the 2 inches of split ends). Any recs for South or Central Austin? Bonus points if it's under or around $50?
I love my girl. Sara Anderson with Salon Sorelle on Manchaca and 1626. She is getting married this weekend, so I don't know if she is working this week or not, but her phone number is 292-0901
I swear by Birds Barbershop. I've been going there for the last 3 years or so and only once did I get a bad cut (my fault for being Preggo and just saying "chop it all off!").There are locations all over town.
Their lady bird cut is $39 - all of the stylists there have been awesome and I highly recommend!
The only caveat is that they don't take appointments, but you can call ahead and they'll add you to the list. I always do this and they're usually ready for me as soon as I walk in!
I really love the girl who does my hair. She does a fantastic job, but she charges $65. Her name is Shandy Nichols and she is at Bradz on 6th, which is transitioning to being called Happy Salon and Spa because the owners divorced. The only difference from what I can tell right now is that the sign out front says something different. I think you still call 454-0080 for appointments there (the Bradz call center).

I used to work there (when I was transitioning out of college) and he is a complete @ss. I can totally see why they are splitting. That was by far the worst job ever he would make degrading comments and talk down to his employees.
I go to Style Salon on S Lamar and Mary, it's very no frills. Brandi and Morgana both do a good job, for $25! it is such a bargain! I take my boys there too, $10 for kids haircuts. 804 2888
On another note, if you do want to go to Bradz you can go to the New Talent salon off 35th 1/2 (?) the stylist there have all been trained they are just working their way up ("into the Bradz enviroment") and it's only $35.

I almost didn't want to let the secret out I LOVE them!!!! Morgana has such a regular clientele that I could never get in with her (a friend told me about her), so Brandi is my regular and she is great too. my boys love the place too
My haircut need is the exact same as yours and I saw that Salon Genesis on Main in Buda is offering $7 cuts all day tomorrow as part of the First Thursday Ladies Night event. I can't rec it yet since I've never been before, but that's where I'm going tomorrow. Never been happy with Supercuts!

If your just cutting off split ends I would just go to Supercuts. They cut my hair into a layered bob and it looks great. I think I only paid 20!
