And I'm still jealous. I can't wait for it to cool off here even though it only gets to be in the low 60s to mid 50s. Thats full on ugg boot and parka weather for me though.
The water is really muddy and the lake has an above-average concentration of a certain type of parasite. Several kids have died from it. Just don't go swimming. I camped at Camp Tallchief (located on the cove of Skiatook) for girl scouts when I was younger and it was gorgeous!
I'm coming in late here to talk about Oklahoma lakes. My parents have a house at Lake Skiatook! I have gotten in the lake several times this summer!! Oh no!!! I'll have to ask them about the parasite thing.. that's scary!!
I know I heard about parasites in some water but I couldn't remember where it was at. I thought one time it was at a little splash pad at the zoo in Tulsa but I could be mistaken
I'm sure it's one of those things that happened a couple times and gave a bad reputation.. probably could have happened anywhere.. I'll still talk to them about it because all the grandbabies get in the lake when we go boating!
Yea, I don't know anything about it.. I'm sure my dad who's a phd chemist and is extremely meticulous with safety would have noticed something! Who knows though.. It'll be a good topic to razz him about the next time I see him!!
Re: Lovin' the cold weather
Lucky!
We are stuck in a yucky in-between stage! Cold in the morning and at night, but still high 70's-low 80's during the day!
Well, it's not super cold (or really that cold at all). It 50 right now. Considering it was 90 earlier this week, it's frigid. I'm celebrating. LOL
?
I'm kind of kicking myself for not having DH bring in some firewood before he left. :-/?

But I was thinking all the parasite stuff wasn't this year. Maybe I'm wrong though.
This summer was a bit distracting for me when I found out I was pregnant.
