drinking cough surup before having sex?
Ok this is a weird one but this is what I was told...
Somebody told my boyfriend that I should drink a TBS of cough surup before we have sex and I will get pregnant. How that has anything to do with TTC I do not know. A lot of girls said they did it and it worked. Can I have some opinions please. We have been TTC since Jan. but the passing of my father in May stressed me out and my body is finally getting back on track. It upsets me because it seems like EVERY girl I know is pregnant!!

Sorry to hear about your father, but in regards to the cough syrup-WHAT? Please don't take everything you hear or read as truth.
PS-Hope this isn't MUD, there have been several today that seem like it
It's totally true! Everyone I know who is pregnant got knocked up by drinking cough syrup before having sex. Isn't that amazing!?!? It worked for all of us on this board, too!
P.S.- Think about getting a ring before you get KU.

I agree one million percent. Why can't you wait to have a baby if you obviously are waiting to get married? Hope you're smart enough to know which one should come first.
I'm sorry, but I can't think of any reason why that would be true about cough syrup. It sounds like a bizarre urban legend to me.

To answer both of you, she's probably 16 which is 1. Why she would believe this. and 2. Why she can't get married, you need parental permission, DUH
hahaha oooops. If this is true, I really hope you (OP) do your homework, stay in school, and leave your bf if he wants to get you knocked up but not get married.

If there's one thing I've learned while waiting my turn,
it's that in each life some rain falls but you also get some sun.
After 2 years & 2 losses, our little man arrived 8-2011.
While taking just 1 TBSP of cough syrup right before sex will most likely NOT do anything to help you GP, taking 2 TBS a day 5 days before ovulation is said to help thin out CM (if you dont get EWCM) so that your CM becomes a more friendly environment for sperm. However, it takes a few days to become effective, it's not a proven method, and it doesnt actually knock you up, it just makes your CM less clumpy.
There is a small base of truth in what people have told it.
On the flip side, I agree, please get married or agree to some sort of very long term commitment before trying to get KU. Kids are forever.
