To Heat or not to Heat?? (NTTCALR)

Seriously, It is freezing in my house and I am having a really hard time turing the heat on already!! I am just cheap and want to have a low electric bill. The house was at 63 when I got home!!!!!

How's the weather around you? Have you turned the heat on yet?

    My hubs has a rule...No turning the furnace on until Nov 1st...BRRRRRRRR!

    My DH is the one that wants to turn the heat on. I just said put on sweat pants and a sweat shirt...He called me a cheap ass..ha

    We turned it on today. Laid out new insulation in the attic over the summer though, so maybe that'll help keep the cost down? At my parents house my dad refuses to turn it on until Thanksgivng so we had something to be thankful for. We lived north of Boston. Freaking freezing in that house. He swears it kept us healthy.

    I haven't turned my heat on yet either.  This weekend we had a frost advisory and it has gotten pretty chilly at night but during the day it has gotten up in the 60's.  This weekend might hit 70, so no heat for me yet.

    We live in coastal NC.  We usually don't turn on the heat until mid-November.  It's still warm here.  Probably in a few weeks we will turn on the gas fireplace in the evenings to take the chill off.  It has been so HOT here.  We finally turned off the A/C just this week!

    AH!  I was just talking about this today.  We have yet to turn on the heat.  Our electric bill is pretty low in general (I think the highest it gets in the winter is $200 for 2.5 months or so).  I'm going to hold out as long as possible.  GL!  If I was freezing though and home by myself I would totally turn it on!

    ahh me too, too cold! What happened to fall? I need some 70 degree days to transition, not 50s. We compromised and took out a space heater to use.

    Same weather in South Georgia! We are just breaking out the fleeces at night.
