So I have told a few of my family members and some close friends already. Now I was thinking about how to tell the rest of my family and I have decided to make baby shaped cut out cookies that say "Baby P Coming May 2011" and bring them to one of our family gatherings. I am so excited and just wanted to share with everyone!
Has anyone else thought of ways to tell their family?
Re: How I plan on telling my family :) What about you?
I'm going to hire a clown to jump out at everyone during thanksgiving dinner.
when they are all passed out from fright, I'll let them know. It'll go better that way.
This...
This will be the first grandchild on my parent's side so we are going to get a grandparents frame and put the u/s pic in it. My mom is going to die!
My husband's parents already have 3 grandkids so we are going to have our newest niece wear a onsie that says something about a new cousin.
We can't wait! It is so hard not telling! Have fun making those cookies...you should post a pic of them
With DS we told at our housewarming party. I made a sign with our u/s pics and said "January 2008" on it, and I wore a shirt that said "Growing a Broncos Fan" on it.
This time DS got to wear the shirt, and it says "I said I wanted a baby DINOSAUR. Mom and Dad misunderstood." on the front and on the back it says "Big Brother 2011." It was very cute.
We conceived on vacation in Jamaica, so when my mom came to visit us, I gave her a gift bag with my positive pregnancy test in it and told her that we brought her back a present from Jamaica!
She was sooo surprised
Which is amazing b/c she is the best gift guesser EVER!
Omg I literally LOL'd from this.

Way cute!
With technology this day and age... we knew as soon as we told one - there would be a calling frenzy happening and without making the parents keep their own excitement "hush-hush" we decided to make a video and put it online the morning after.
We did still frame shots of us sitting together, holding up signs. My husband held up: "Finding...2 white t-shirts" Then I held up: "$26" (and so on..) "Finding... 2 pairs of pants" / "$125" / then my husband wrote " Finding two people in this photo" and I scribbled on his paper where it read "Finding OUT there's 3 people in this photo!" and we both held up "priceless" and then kissed.
Everyone got to hear from us or through us that we were having a baby and share in our excitement. It was well worth the effort with family and friends living farther away.
For our first we found out just before Mother's Day, so we put a 4oz baby bottle in a little gift bag for each Grandmom as part of their mother's day presents. My mom almost cried as soon as she saw it. Hubby's mom took a little more convincing since we'd been married for almost 9 years already. This time around it's twins so I immediately brought the 6week u/s over to my parents. My dad caught that I was telling them that we're pregnant, but he didn't look closely enough at the u/s. Then he stopped, "Wait, whose is this?" It was so funny! We phoned hubby's parents and she kept calling back to make sure it wasn't a joke.
