NT Scan & EDD keeps changing??

Had my NT scan today and everything went well. The little munchkin didn't want to cooperate though, and just when it was time to get the measurements, she/he flipped over on its side facing right out at us! No matter what I did (I rolled on mt side, sat up, etc) that baby wouldn't budge. So I was told to get a some water, fill my bladder, walk around a bit and we'd try again. Luckily the baby flipped and we got the scan!!

But what's odd is that I measured about 5 days off from how far along my OB said I should be today. This put my due date at 4/20 instead of 4/15. Does that happen often??

    I was measuring 5 days ahead also but the tech didn't say it would change my date and I doubt my dr will want to change it either. DS was always measuring about 3 days ahead and his due date never changed but he ended up coming a week early.

    It happened to us.  We just know our LO is due the first week of April.

    With DS this happened several times. My Dr's policy was not to change the due date unless the baby measured more than a week ahead.

    Unless your dr moves your due date the u/s just shows the baby's size- and as your pregnancy progresses the size of babies varies greatly. FWIW LO is measuring a full week ahead right now even though we know the date of conception, so baby is just a bigger baby or just went through a growth spurt. If there's no reason to doubt your original dates your dr will probably just leave it.

    Our doctor has a similar policy as PP that she doesn't change the due date unless it's more than a week different from LMP - and that's only at the 8 week u/s.  She told us that once you're past there the measurements are much less precise...the same tech/doc can get up to a week's difference on the same baby.  Past 8 weeks they just look for large differences (ex. over 2 weeks).

    I've been given 3 different due dates between 2 different ultrasounds and my ovulation date.  I am sticking with the ovulation date for a couple reasons - #1 it is in April and I want an april baby!  We already have a March baby ;-)

    #2 it is the latest due date given - I wanted to buy myself some extra time incase I have to be induces for being "over due."  Also, I think it must be a little let down if you are "late" and go past the due date you are thinking about for 9 months.  So any extra days I can get - I am taking!

    FWIW ultrasounds can be off by 5 days to a week in either direction.
