Looks like I won't get the delivery I wanted

My goal this time was to go natural.  After weighing my options looks like I will be getting the epidural at some point and then having my tubes tied while the epidural is still in effect.  Still a little bummed, but I would rather that than be completely under.

    I'm sorry you won't get what you hoped for, I guess it's good that you know a head of time instead of being surprised with it in the moment.

    Here's an idea I've heard of....they administer the epi while you're laboring and do a small dose to make sure it's effective.  They let it wear off so that you can labor naturally and then turn it on after the baby is delivered. Ask your doctor about this option.  I hope you get what you want!
