Ugh. So last night I was waiting for a prescription to be filled at Walmart (double ugh--my doctor called it into the Walmart pharmacy without asking me WHERE i would like to pick it up)...anyways...ahem...a woman who worked at Walmart came up to me and commented on my DD2's eyes--which, how can I blame her, they ARE gorgeous
...but then she started talking about how HER daughter sees an ophthalmologist because the whites of her eyes are a bit blue. She then tells me that she noticed MY daughter's eyes because her whites are a bit blue too. And THEN she told me that it was a genetic defect. ![]()
Argh...I was just like..."Uhhhh?"....sooo, of course, when I got home, I needed to check Dr. Google to see what the heck she was talking about. And now I am completely paranoid. So...here is a pic of my DD2's eyes. Do the whites look blue to you?!

Tell me I'm a loon...![]()
Re: Nothing like being neurotic...
You're a loon.
Seriously, though, ask your pedi when you see him/her next, but don't fret too much. My pedi checks DD's eyes at every visit, I'm sure if your pedi was worried s/he would have said something.
If it helps, DS had very blue eyes as a baby and the whites of his eyes looked a little blue, but he grew out of it.
Breathe, mama.
PPH you!

I know, right?!?
Sounds like she was projecting her issues onto your adorable LO.
Her eyes are beautiful and do not look blue in the whites of the eyes. :-)
In my camera bag:
I've never felt so good being called names before.
Glad to be a loon today.
Ugh. I'm just mad that she said that to me.
It said that it could be completely normal--just a thinner "sclera" than normal eyes...or it could be a sign of brittle bone disease (or a few other various connective tissue disorders)...which, I would think, would have been caught by now if that was the case? Dr. Google is always scary.
I'm going to ask my pediatrician at her 9 month well-baby check.
