what will it be?
Trying to decide. So far the only thing I found that I liked was winter "one"derland... But I'm not completely sold.
So if you would, please share your theme. If it happens to be winter "one"derland, please share your ideas!
Thanks
Re: If you are having a theme for LO's first birthday...
We're doing The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Keeping it pretty simple. Just red, dark green and light green for colors. And I'm making popcorn balls that will be wrapped in green or red paper and set up to look like caterpillars. They will be center pieces and favors.
These are the invites I sent out:
The only other thing really related to the theme is going to be a game, "pin the food on the hungry caterpillar".
There are a ton of great party ideas on the web. I found this one in a random blog.
We're doing Eric Carle. I was going to do Very Hungry Caterpillar, but decided to make it more broad. I LOVE your invited Anakin--- and your theme hehe!
)
In each goody bag, I'm gonna put in a different Eric Carle book. plus make this cupcake cake:
DD will get the head to smash.

We are thinking penguin. He's a december 10th baby. I need to work out the whole thing though. I'm really not that creative, but I like this cake.

sorry no clicky.
We are doing Winter One-derland, and I'm going a little nuts but I'm okay with that LOL. We are going to decorate with cotton (snow) around the room, a Christmas tree with white lights to put her presents under, a sled on the outside of the venue with a blowup penguin or snowman in it, a hot cocoa bar as people walk in (with alcohol add ins for adults like peppermint schnaupps and baileys), white branches with "snow" as centerpieces with snowflake ornaments hanging from them (the ornaments are the favors), "snowballs" made out of rice crispy treats, a visit from a real beard santa who will hand out presents to babies/kids, white candy canes, a children's choir caroling as people walk in (I know people who do this, I'm not paying anyone LOL) etc. I'm thinking I'm going pretty Elf style on it, hahaha- "Santa, I KNOW HIM!!!"

Owl/Pumpkin theme
We're doing a football theme.
It's mostly friends of ours, so we're having everyone wear their college colors (or whatever team they root for). We've got an Ohio State cornhole set, and we're serving typical football food -- wings, potato skins, chips, etc. DS will have a football shaped smash cake, and everyone else gets these brownies:
And DS will be wearing this:
We are also doing a football theme because DS' birthday is Thanksgiving weekend and we are HUGE Cowboys fans, so it just seemed to be perfect. I'm hoping to make a cake that looks like a football field, give away sugar cookies with the Dallas Cowboys star on it and served football themed food. (wings, chili, nachos, etc.) I'm not sure about games yet, but we are having it at the park across the street from my house so I figure the older kids could play on the playground.
We are having a woodland themed party. I'm going to serve lunch and have a bunny cake and mushroom cupcakes. Lots of autumn colors and leaves will be the decorations.
I did a preview on my blog: link
We are doing a full on "Enchanted Forest" dress up party
fairies, knights, and dragons--
adults and kids are dressing up (im providing fairy wings and inflatable swords)--
we have two real "fairies" coming for entertainment etc . . . .
