  Are you talking about after you ordered one or from the hospital?

  I don't know if it's standard practice but I had DS at Methodist Willowbrook and you fill out the birth certificate paperwork but they don't send you a birth certificate.  You have to either go down to the County Clerk's office to get a copy or order one online.

  Yeah, I was so confused about this. I thought they'd sent it and I'd lost it! You have to order it from the bureau of vital statistics:

  there's an office down by reliant. I went and picked one up and it took less than 30 minutes.

  About a week and a half after ordering it... But it took St Lukes almost 7 freaking weeks to release the info to the state.
