TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Where would you go?

If you could go anywhere? DH and I were looking at a vacation the first week in November. We've been talking about Barbados or a cruise but are totally up for suggestions. We talked about Mexico but right now it isn't the safest place and would like to go somewhere warm and relaxing. Thank you!

Re: Where would you go?

  • My parents just got back from a cruise. They did NY to Bermuda and back and they loved it.

Our honeymoon was in the first week of Nov and we went to Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau, Bahamas. The weather was great. I heard that sandals opened another resort in the Bahamas too, just haven't looked into it yet.

  • DH and I would love to go to Ireland, Greece, or Italy.  Its one of those things we keep saying we'll do "when we grow up".

  • There are two types of people in the world - those who like to cruise and those who don't.

I happen to love cruising and living in Jersey means you'll have tons of options. I really prefer Norweg. or Royal Car. to Carnival.

Ditto whoever said Bermuda. I love Bermuda and there a cruises that go there fro NY. St. Lucia is also a beautiful and (imho) underrated spot.

  • We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon and I loved it.  I also love Aruba, Grand Cayman, St. Maarten, and San Juan.  You will have an amazing trip no matter where you go.  Let me know if you have questions about any of those places.

  • DH & I would love to go to Italy...food, art, scenery, mmmm.  :)

Also, I'd love to visit England/London.  But that's not so much with the warm & sunny.  ;)

  • Greece and Spain are absolutely amazing!  Those are the only 2 European countries I have been to.  As for Mexico, I love Playa del Carmen, which is on the Mayan Riviera, and Cabo.  Aruba is also great.

  • We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon and loved it.  We also just got back from Atlantis Bahamas (the reef) It was AMAZING!!!!   but I couldn't go during peak season becuas it might be crowded and it was very expensive (we didn't pay for all of it).  Bermuda was also nice and a cruise is good there becuase the night life isn't that hopping but it was so much fun!

My ultimate dream vacation would be Bora Bora on one of those huts on the water.

  • I just found this article, about a travel alert issued for US travelers.  They're saying not to cancel plans, but thought I'd throw it out there....

  • DH & I went to Ambergris Caye, Belize on our honeymoon. It was wonderful. The most laid-back, relaxing, beautiful place on earth. It wasn't too terribly expensive, and we were in a beach front cabana.

I would whole-heartedly recommend it. If you're interested we stayed at Ak'bol resort.  https://www.akbol.com/ I can't imagine a more perfect place to stay there.

  • Costa Rica!  Hands down.

It's affordable, it's warm, it's safe and lovely, there's tons to do and, you know, you have the option of just not doing anything, too.  Gorgeous beaches.  Awesome people.  Great food.  I could go on and on.
