You will remember my brilliant food themes poll of a week or two ago?

Well my wonderful, not-even-trying-but-can't-help-but-be-brilliantly-funny theme of "Balls around the World" shall never see the light of day.

Why you ask? Let me explain:

  1. The dinner is scheduled for October 15th at 7:00 pm.
  2. One of the couples wants to 'announce' their pregnancy at dinner.

Not even cakeballs could save me from throwing myself off the roof... so yeah, I backed out of hosting and will instead be sitting at home in ugly pjs, doing the ugly cry, and eating cookie dough.

Blech.

    WTF universe, seriously?  Carrie is wise.  I might mention it.  Perhaps we can arrange for a virtual balls around the world party?  Just don't ask me to make cake balls, I suck at those.

    @Carrie - the stupid thing is EVERYONE knows... I think she just means 'officially celebrate' it or something stupid. I can see her bringing pink and blue something-or-other dessert.

    I'm contemplating going public with my losses this year. They're all friends with me on fb so at least they won't be bitching about me bailing on hosting.

    She has nine fvcking months to celebrate being pregnant. We get one stupid day. At least people should know about it.

    Oh and ps: I will celebrate the virtual balls around the world with you. Swedish meatballs, cakeballs, rice balls. It'll be balls to the wall here. We'll listen to Li'l Jon as our musical accompaniment.

    I'm so sorry.

    I have issues with her for announcing she is announcing her pregnancy and doing so at a party you are hosting.

    I agree with Carrie, you should call her up and tell her about it. I would go one step farther and tell her you had already planned on doing a special pregnancy loss memorial at the dinner so that wouldn't go a good time. 

    If you do decide to stay home, I fully support the virtual balls around the world.
