I have 2 questions that I hope you all can help me with.Sorry if these have been asked . . . I never seem to have much luck with thesearch function.
1. 1. First, can I start my registry online and then add toit in the store if I want? I think I would be overwhelmed starting it in thestore.
2. 2. Is my registry visible to people as soon as I startit, or can I work on it for a while before I publish it publicly?
I was also wondering if you have been happy with your registry at BRU? I was reading somewhere that people had lots of problems with customer service and duplicate items.
Thanks!
Re: registering at babies r us--logistically
1. Yes
2. Once you create it, the registry becomes public.

1.) Yes, although I think the completion coupon is 15% if you start your registry in the store, but only 10% if you start on-line. I didn't know this and my completion coupon was only 10% because I started my registry on-line (can anyone else confirm if this is true? I'm not really sure)
2.) Yes, it is publicly searchable as soon as you start it. I know some people who signed up with a fake last name or their maiden name so that people couldn't find the registry immediately, and then they changed the name on it when they were ready for people to see it.
3.) I definitely had problems with my BRU registry and customer service at BRU in general. I got a LOT of duplicate items at my baby showers (well over $200 worth of stuff that had to be exchanged). Plus, some people complained about how hard it is to follow the in-store registry print out. Their system really is pretty terrible. I didn't have any problem returning the duplicate items for store credit, but DH had an issue trying to exchange a car seat that was sent to us in the wrong color. The car seat was ordered on-line in the correct color, but the wrong color was shipped to us... DH brought the car seat and the packing slip to the store, and BRU tried to charge him a BALANCE because the color we received was on sale at the time, but the color we were supposed to get was not. They tried to do this even though the person who bought the seat for us paid the full price! Finally, DH went BSC on one of the managers and they let him have an even exchange for the right color. It was totally ridiculous.
That being said, BRU is still the most convenient baby store in the country, so I wouldn't change the fact that I had my registry there. I probably would've done a second registry at Buy Buy Baby, though. That store is waaaaay better than BRU, but they're only located in certain states.
No worries. The search function on the bump is atrocious.
Yes, you can do this. I did it the other way around - started in store and did a lot of adds/deletes/changes online - but you can certainly do it your way too.
Unfortunately, as soon as you create your registry, it's viewable. If you want privacy, you can always intentionally misspell your name and fix it when you're ready to go public.
I've been extremely happy. I've done some returns, and they were super easy. The only issue I've had is little things (pacifiers, sippy cups) mysteriously changing from the boy version to the girl version on my registry. I don't know why this happens, but it seems to happen to everyone.~EDD Nov 18, 2017 with my IUI success story~

I haven't had any problems with BRU, and have brought back a LOT of stuff to return...
I would start the registry in store, you get a little goody bag that had samples and coupons in it.. you can always add more or take stuff off online..
Like PP said, I have had a few things change on there from girl to boy, but it has only done it after it had been purchased on my registry... Good luck!

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. I didn't have any issues with BRU registry or customer service. I took several things back without a receipt. They gave me store credit instead of a refund, but that was fine with me b/c I just used it to buy diapers or something.
