Lurker with ? regarding pumps

Hi Ladies! I am having a C section next Tuesday due to high blood pressure. I know I want to breastfeed. My question is, when did you get your breast pump? I dont want to buy one now and then find out that breastfeeding is not going to work for me. What are your thoughts?

    You can rent one from your LC first to see how it goes.  I borrowed one from a friend, then I purchased one.

    I bought my mine before and needed it the first week. You can wait till after you give birth or rent one if you need. Also, if you buy one just dont open it unless you need it and you can return within 30 days at most places.

    I needed mine during the first week also due to latching issues.  I was happy to have it at home waiting for me (so happy -- you have no idea.. LOL) You can buy one and not open it until you know you need it.  You can also rent one for the first month if neccesary also.
