gas/colic

So E has been up pretty much all night for the last 3 nights (so all 3 nights we have been home). He will ~12 hrs during the day, waking up to eat and when he is changed but pretty much going back to sleep. Then once we feed him at night he is up, alternating between sleeping 10 mins at a time and screaming at the tops of his lungs.

Last night he was up from 1230 until 5 am, ate and then was up crying until 1130 am.

I'm pretty sure it is gas cause he has been gassy and burping a lot. He is also pulling his knees to his tummy quite a bit.

Question is: what can I do about this? Anything? He's only 5 days old so I

    Mylicon and gripe water helped DD a lot. Also, if you're BFing you can check if something you eat makes him gassy. You can also try to drink star anise tea (you drink the tea), but make sure that you get Chinese star anise (Illicium verum) and not Japanese star anise (Illicium anisatum) because Japanese anise may have serious side effects.
