PPD can also be characterized by frustration, anger and irritability. I can share my experience with depression, anger and extreme happiness, but my experience is with Bipolar Disorder rather then PPD induced anger. If you would like to chat feel free to PM me I lurk around the bump at various times of the day.
I looked up the symptoms of PPD online to see if I was experiencing any of them, and sure enough I was. If you feel like you are struggling, talk to someone. There is nothing to be ashamed about!
It was like that for me. I never had the "crying all the time", i just had "angry all the time". DD would cry and i'd feel angry towards her. I was mad at DH all the time, mad at the dog....mad at everything. Don't be ashamed, just get help! It's the best thing you can do for yourself!

This...minus the dog (we don't have one). Feel free to pm me if you need someone to talk to.
Thank you for having the courage to ask this. I, too, am beginning to suspect I have PPD in the form of extreme anger. I just wasn't sure if there was such a thing. I appreciate you posting this. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk and see if we're experiencing similar issues.
Re: PPD rearing it's head as anger?

My PPD/PPA manifested as mostly anger. I think it is a totally normal expression of PPD.
Are you in South NJ, by chance? If so, you should check out the Postpartum Stress Center in Voorhees and Washington Twp. It's really great!
