Colds

My aunt stopped by yesterday to see my lo because she wanted to see him before cold and flu season.  She washed her hands very well and only held him for a short time but she called this morning to say she is feeling sick.  She thinks she is coming down with a cold.  My lo is 5 1/2 mo. 2 1/2 mo. adjusted.  He is about 13/14lbs and was never diagnosed with BPD and he still gets about 12oz of fresh pumped breastmilk a day but I am really freaking out.  How long until he would show symptoms?  Did anyones little one get sick while they were still very young?

I feel like my LO has been held by everyone in the galaxy.  I am more worried when he is around other babies or children--it like there is saliva and the children just want to touch the baby.

I feel like my LO and I have been passing a cold back and forth the last couple of weeks--we are just more around each other with breastfeeding, bottlefeeding, and diaper changes.  My LO has been snorting a little bit the last couple of weeks.  And he has been coughing.  I got a Nosefrida and some Little Noses Saline Drops with an aspirator.  As well, I have been having runny nose--I keep having to wash my hands and use sanitizer around him.  If it gets worse, I will go to the doctor.  But my LO is doing okay at this point.

Andrew gets a cold 48 hours after exposure.  The good thing is, it's really a bit soon for RSV to be common, so hopefully your LO will be okay.  Colds aren't very fun, but I suspect your LO will be okay since it's unlikely it is RSV!

    Sorry!

Ditto. Since it's a bit early for RSV and Flu I try to think of colds as a good thing, since they will help boost their immune system. That is what I repeated to myself with the few colds my DS has had.

Thanks so much, so far no signs of a cold.
