Outerwear

What are you getting LO to wear now as well as winter? Are you getting any of these "bunting" one piece outfits? They look to constricting to me and how the heck would I get her in the car seat with that fluff?

I got her this crocheted fleece lined coat today in Macy's but I'm looking for something else for now. I can't seem to find anything that great. Also, what are you doing for the winter months and where do you find mittens for LO this young?

Re: Outerwear

  • if your lo still fits in the infant carrier then you could get a bundleme to cover the seat,,, that's what i have. my lil guy will only fit in the infant carrier for 2 more lbs!

i also found a great fluffy one piece cover at old navy for twenty bucks. its cute.

  • We have a bundleme along with one of the bunting suits that has spots for the buckles. Today we went to the red sox game which was quite chilly. We put lo in a fleece one piece suit that covered her hands as well.

  • Layers and a blanket since you should not have any puffy coats on them when they are in a car seat.

  • I got a thick blanket that goes in the carseat and wraps around the baby as well (like a BundleMe).

Huge fluffy coats and stuff are not recommended for carseats. The bunting things you can get usually have holes for car seat straps. Just get a thinner fabric one if the huge one seems too big for the seat.

I have sweaters and sweat pants for him, I think that should be fine. It's not like he's going out and playing in the snow quite yet.

  • You shouldn't use anything puffy in a car seat. It's not safe. So that bunting outfit you found would have to be removed for the car ride then put back on. I have a fleece jacket (that's safe for use in the car seat) and a puffy down jacket that I'll put on him before we get out of the car if we're going to be outside for any length of time.
  • I've been wondering the same thing. I'd love to get DD one of those cute little jackets from Baby Gap, but it seems like such a waste of money considering she'll outgrow it in about 2 months time!
