Babies on the Brain

My kid has zero personality when out in public

We went to a pumpkin patch/farm today.  Lane did not smile (after seeing all kinds of goats, chickens, geese, turkeys, etc and going on a hayride) the entire day.  Well, until we were checking out and he saw a dog.  Then he got a big grin and said "Dog-dog!!"  He does this all the time.  I know our friends think he is the most boring, stoic kid on earth.  Around the house he laughs and giggles all the time.  Soon as we go out the door, nothing.

  • That's so funny!

  • Probably just because he is out of his comfort zone. DH's cousin's kids are like that. Once they get more comfortable they warm up a bit. But all of the old aunts try and get them to come and give them hugs and kisses, it's terrifying for the poor kids.LOL

  • My DD does the exact same thing!  No one believes that she is a silly, loud, energetic child the rest of the time.  I wish she would feel more comfortable, but know I was the same way as a little girl.
