2+ mamas- pain the second time the same??

Just wondering if it was any better/ less painful the second time around! With DS I had bleeding, sore, bruised, and blood blistered nipples! Yowzers! I dreaded every feeding at first and dug my nails into the nursing pillow while he latched. It did get better after 2 weeks, but I'm hoping it won't be as terrible this time! TIA!

    I never had any pain when I nursed my 2nd or 3rd... (I pumped exclusively with my 1st & that was torture).  If I felt any pain I would redo the latch right away.  I would say I was very lucky ; ) & of course the 2nd time I nursed it was that much easier since I had an idea of what was going to happen.

    I had a very painful initial six weeks with DD1. It was a struggle to stick with BFing b/c it hurt so much, but we did and went 15 months. 

    With DD2, I had slight soreness for the first two weeks, but it was nothing compared to the troubles I had with DD1. SO much easier the second time! (As far as pain. I'm having supply issues this time around, which I didn't have with my first. I guess you can never take BFing for granted! :))

    I EP'ed for my DD - after trying for 6 weeks to BF unsuccessfully due to bad latch, overactive letdown and oversupply issues. The pain was out of this world with both latching and pumping. sucked. quite literally.

    This time- baby had a great latch and a he is a great nurser. only time it hurts is if he is pulling on my nipple or bending it in half- when he is frustrated waiting for a letdown. other than that- easy peasy. GL

    Kellina, so glad you asked this question. I had a really rough time, too. These answers seriously give me hope about #2!

    Nope, it was so much better this time around! Engorgement wasnt anywhere near as painful as the first time and it seemed to be much easier. Hope that gives you hope!

    definite pain in the first few seconds of latching.  engoragement was crazy, but I don't remember what it was for DD1.

    DD2 is a much better nurser than DD1, so my overall issues and pain and stress are much less than the first time.
