Cleaning a convertible carseat

Possibly, TMI, sorry...

     Yesterday, my son vomitted in his carseat.  I removed the cover and cleaned it well.  However, I would like to hose the base down to make sure I got everything cleaned out of the crevasses.  Is it okay to hose down the base of a convertible carseat?
