Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Laugh and Learn Kitchen vs. House

I know I have heard good things about one of these but can't remember. Anyone have either of these? The kitchen looks really small but could still be fun. FWIW I am thinking for LO's birthday or christmas so something that will be fun from 1 year to 18 months. WDYT?? Laugh and Learn Kitchen   Laugh and Learn House

Re: Laugh and Learn Kitchen vs. House

  • We have the learning home.  All three of our kids have loved it!  Our baby, Cora just recently started playing with it(we just got it out for her).  She enjoys chewing on the balls and mail that it comes with and playing with the door.  I haven't seen the kitchen in person and I don't know anyone who has it, so I can't comment on that one.

  • I'd get the house.  DD1 is 6 now and it just came out when she was a baby.  I saved it, and now DD2 is playing with it.  I'm getting the kitchen soon as well.. and maybe even the farm..lol

Also,  I have the Laugh and Learn birdbath that is now discontinued... it is selling on amazon by a toy collector company for $129 Indifferent

    I love the name Cora!

  • My son had the house and played with it for about two years. I can't say about the kitchen. It looks cute though.

My baby loves my son's Little Tikes deluxe wooden kitchen and laundry center. He plays with it daily.

  • We have the house & DD loves it. The kitchen looks super cute too, I've actually been thinking about that for Christmas. Sorry, guess I'm no help.

  • We have the kitchen and DD really likes it. The kitchen has been redesigned though and now is very small. So if you are buying new, I'd choose the house, or search out an old style used kitchen. We got ours for a steal on craigslist!

P.S. I want that bird bath too, that stinks that it was discontinued!

  • We "test drove" the kitchen at Target last week and DS loved it!  He got really upset that we left it at the store!  He will be getting it for his birthday in a couple of weeks!!

  • We have the house and DD plays with it everyday. It is the first thing she goes to in the morning. I bought the kitchen for her birthday, but ended up taking it back. I wasn't to impressed with how small it is and we're planning on getting her a larger kitchen set to put in our kitchen.
  • You can get em both at BRU. Fisher Price toys are B1G1 50% right now!
  • I went with the house. It's bigger, so I feel like it will last longer. Also, I've heard that the hinges on the kitchen are really loose and the fridge door will sometimes close on it's own and can pinch little fingers.

  • We have the kitchen and it's very small compared to the house... but I guess that's the major reason for the big price difference. DD really likes the kitchen and it has cute songs that don't really get annoying like some of the other toys we have. I'm still thinking I'd like to have the house too though, half of her toys now are too babyish and the house would be a good replacement for those for her birthday or Christmas.

My only complaint with the kitchen is that it isn't too sturdy. My DD uses everything to stand up on and it easily falls over. It's small enough though that she doesn't hurt herself, I'm just constantly holding it steady or standing it back up. I don't regret buying it though because she does enjoy playing with it.
