I really don't know what to do. LO was sick all week with a fever then she got diareaha starting Wed. The fever is gone as of this morning. Still having 3-4 diareahas. I can handle all of that just fine, but all she does is cry all day and all night. Dr. says its a virus and there is nothing that can be done. I haven't slept more the 1 hour at a time in 6 days. Even when I hold her she screams. I have tried everything I can think of to make her feel better but nothing is working.
I am sitting her crying my eyes out, while she is laying in her crib crying hers out.
Re: Having a meltdown =(
That sounds terrible. I am so sorry. DD was sick for a day and was super fussy and it was hard. I cant imagine 6. Have you given her tylenol to see if that makes her feel better?
Maybe you can get a family member to come watch her so you can get a break?
GL to you! Just think this too will pass (easier said than done)!
I'm sorry =(
Is there a family member or friend you can call to come over?
Hang in there. Hugs.
:hugs:
That sounds rough. I would take her in again. That seems long for a virus. Where's your SO? Can you call someone over?
Is she congested? I am asking because Matthew was sick this week too. He was having constant blowouts and I called the pedi. She said that baies swallow the phlegm, it upsets thier tummy and usually causes the excessive poop. We were told to give him tylenol & motrin as well as use the humidifer with the liquid vapor. She also said it was ok to use a little vicks vapor rub on his chest. It helped a ton! As soon as I gave him tylenol, rubbed a tiny amount of vicks on his chest and turned on the humidifer her passed out.
I hope both of you feel better soon
I have done Tylenol, Teething tablets, mylicon, grib water, teether, a bath, outside time, walking, bouncing and nothing is working.
I have had 2 diffrent dr. look at her both said the same thing. I saw 1 on Wed. he said virus and to return on Fri if not better. Went back friday and saw a diffrent dr. and she said the same thing. She told us no BM for 24 hours just pedilight, which we did. But then I thought she was crying because she was hungry but she won't eat more then 2-3 oz at a time. I am thinking of feeding her by syringe just to get some food in her.
We have no isurance so I am at the mercy of the free clinic, which has been wonderful to us. DD does his best to help with DD but he works so I don't get much help from him. Everyone that we have avaliable to us here works or goes to school, so I really have no support.
I just want my happy, go lucky baby back. This is breaking my heart that I can't make it better.
Is it a medicine? Is it in the baby section? I am willing to try anything.
No BM for 24 hours? I think that is odd. I have seen other bumpies say they were told to give pedialyte but never as a complete replacement of breastmilk or formula.
We were told that it is ok to give both tylenol and motrin. I was skeptical at first and asked another couple of pedi's. They all said it was ok. Will she sleep in the car seat?
I agree. That seems strange. I would imagine BM would be most beneficial for fighting the virus.
Agreed with SB about probiotics. They can't hurt.
D just got over a week long cold and we ran the vaporizer at night, rubbed baby vics on her and gave her tylenol twice a day (morning and night).
I hope you baby gets some relief soon and you get some rest! It's so hard when they are sick.
moral?? Feel better, I hope baby feels better and KEEP NURSING!!!!!
