I am wondering if anyone has seen a bassinet out there without any fluffy white linen hanging all over it, or pink, or bunnies.... Is it possible to just get a solid wood, single color modern bassinet for less than 1 million dollars?
Ehhh- my friend had this one and said it felt too flimsy. She was actually afraid to put her baby in it. We ended up borrowing one from my brother and SIL. They had used it for a girl so it was really pretty frilly and I wasn't sure if I wanted to use it. I just left off the canopy top and the top layer of frilly fabric and it really wasn't that girly anymore- but I think it really depends on which one you get. Honestly, I wouldn't spend money on a bassinet- you only use it for a short time. If I hadn't been given one, I would have just used a PNP with a bassinet feature. That way you can get way more use out of it.
I have the Arm's Reach Cosleeper Mini. It's pretty barebones so it doesn't clash with our decor. It was $118, and we getting our money's worth. Sorda wish we'd gotten the fullsize, though, as baby will probably grow out before we are ready stop cosleeping.
The Uppa Bassinet works as well...we use it for naps.
We were planning on using a mini crib... but I've had a few people also suggest using a pack and play. I know what you mean ... It's not worth spending a million dollar since the baby will be sleeping in his/her crib after a few months anyways.

Thanks guys.
Yeah I heard the Eddie Baur one is flimsy. I have seen a few on craigslist for $40 though so I guess if it sucks I can just throw it away.
I do really like the folding bassinet.
Went a checked out the mini cribs as an altenative. I guess they can be used until the child is 2-ish.... and they are half the size of the reg crib. The choices are just so overwhelming!
Re: Bassinet with no fruffy junk?
Something like this?

Stokke has a cute one that's contemporary, and changes into a crib, plus it's just about $1000!

Here is a similar crib/ bassinet system that's around $600 (veryyyy good deal!!)

We've considered this one, which I think is fairly modern and not too cutesy:
