Shower is tomorrow at my house!

I'm such a clean freak and DH is so not into cleaning up after himself.  My mom came over today to help me mop the floors because I can't really bend over but I'm so nervous because I have never had this many people at my house all at the same time and I'm worried that people will think my house is dirty.  Anyway there is just not enough time in the day to clean this place then follow DH around and pick up behind him.  I'm thinking I will lock my bedroom and the guest bedroom doors.  They only need access to the patio, bathroom, and LO's room....right?  I'm getting stressed just thinking about it!

    I bet you did a wonderful job cleaning. Nobody will say anything about it. Pregnancy gives you a "Get out of Jail Free" card for a lot of things. If you don't feel comfortable having people go into the bedroom except LO's, then I'd lock the door. I don't think it would be seen as rude. I always lock my bedroom, but that's my personality. I don't like people snooping in my personal belongings that are kept in my bedroom.

    Don't worry about your house. I'm sure it's cleaned wonderfully but if you are concerned then closing the doors to the other rooms should work.

    like PP said your house could be a total mess and body would think, let alone say, anything!  you're pregnant you get an excuse to have a messy house and it sounds like on the big scale your house is actually pretty clean lol.  just try to relax and enjoy yourself!!  one of my showers is at my house in a month and I'm already starting to worry about everything being nice for it.. you just gotta remind yourself you're looking at everything way closer and way more harshly than any of your guests will :)

    good luck with the shower! mine is also at my house next saturday and i'm going through the same stress.  DH is not really messy but DS is!! and so are the 3 dogs we have!! ughhh! i plan to close the bedroom door and the study door, my plan is to put the stuff we usually have laying on the counters in the study.  My bff is coming over today to get an idea of how to set up.  I know her and my mom will assist in cleaning etc but in the end the house is mine and the impression people get are of me not the hostess.  sooo i FEEL your stress!
