Back aches/pains..help, please!

For the past week or so, i have had this horrible back pain (Upper, middle & lower). It especially sets in after 6 or 7pm and is increasingly uncomfortable while laying down. I toss and toss and toss and turn trying to get to sleep or get back to sleep. the mornings are rough too, but the daytime is alright, when I'm moving around. It seems that when I experience m/s its only in the evenings...

What I can I do to ease this nighttime back pain. I need good sleep and to wake up feeling refreshed, not beat up.  Thoughts???

Re: Back aches/pains..help, please!

  • I had really bad back pain in weeks 5-8.  I now attribute it to the fact that I am having twins and they were trying to make some room in there, and the constant sretching and cramping.

I literally made a fort out of pillows in the bed.  I had one under my head, then one vertically under that to support my neck and head and my upper back, I had one under my back and If I turned on my side one between my legs.  I helped, it looked strange and took about 5 minutes to get it just right but it helped.  Also sleeping slightly sitting up./propped up seemed to help. • I had that pain too, it subsidded about 4-5 days ago.  It is still there sometimes when I've been working (RN in ER) or sitting too long.  I will say that sleeping with a pillow between my legs helped a lot.  Also the Doc said Icy Hot was okay, I use a little and I'm asleep in minutes!  HTH!  Hang in there it will get better!

  • This has been happeneing to me for the last few weeks as well. So, I mentioned it to my dr thus morning and she said it was way too early for backpain and I should try doing back streches and see if those will help: Get on all fours and curve your back upward, then downward. Repeat the exercise a few times.

    Hope this helps.
