Ultra sound date a week ahead

I went for my Sequential screening yesterday.  They couldn't do the screening because I am dating a week ahead of when I thought.  The only reason I got the ultra sound was because of the screening.  I am happy I was able to see my baby but confused about the babies size.  Anyone know if this means I am a week further along?  Or is my baby just growing fast?

    Since I wasn't there when you conceived... I can't answer that.

    In fact, you can't answer that and you WERE there...

    Just gonna have to pick a date in between and go with it.

    measuring off is normal, and unless you charted you can't know if you are measuring off or exactly right.  It is all guesswork based on the 28 day cycle, day 14 ovulation-  not many women have a textbook cycle so are off from the EDD predicted that way.

    Babies grow at different rates.  So even if you know exactly when you ovulated, you may have a baby that grows slightly faster or slower than the average that all of the books talk about.  I can tell you from my experience, I am measuring 5 days ahead at my last sonogram.  I know exactly when everything happened, because of an IUI.  Because of the theory that babies grow at different rates, my due has not changed.

    I always measured a week ahead with ds. He was just a LONG baby.

    It sucked because measuring that big they induced me a week earlier than the hospital could because they said I was 36 weeks instead od 35. Ended up transferring my son to a nicu since they induced me at a hospital with no nicu.

    That really only works if you KNOW when you concieved because you charted. I charted so I knew.

    My case was probably a 1% thing. usually if you're a week off its makes no big deal.

    The same thing happened to me last week when I went to get my NT scan. I was at the last possible day to do the screening and they took the measurements and the baby was about an inch and a half longer than babies at that age. Because of size,they couldn't get a proper reading, so I'm now going to get the quad screen bloodwork in a couple of weeks.

    They didn't change my due date, but according to my LMP and ovulation, I should be about 15 w 2 d, but my initial dating U/S at my first OB appt. put me at 6 w, when I thought I was 7 w.

    It's frustrating because, like you, I could be a week further along, or the baby just had a growth spurt!

    I charted so I was sure I knew the conception date within 2 days, but my LO is measuring 9 days ahead. They told me I may have conceived earlier due to the fact I had recently had a m/c, but I think the baby is just big.

    I went to my OB 2 days after my u/s.  They moved me up a week.  I didn't chart because I had JUST gone off of my BC and we were just seeing what happened over the summer and then the fall we were going to chart and really try!  I have always thought I was further along but there was no way to tell!  I am worried about getting induced a week early.  We will see at my 20 week u/s.  Thanks everyone!
