A bomb dropped last night...hope it will be ok
Hi All...just looking for good thoughts here. A man showed up at our front door last night as we were pulling into our driveway from a nice weekend away to tell us he thinks he's the father of DD.
We freaked out a bit at first, as we know who told this person, and the fact that they told him where we live is really dangerous. He just got out of jail and isnt the most stable person. As a matter of fact, when he started talking, his breath was heavily scented with alcohol -- and he was driving a work truck.
Anyway, I know he wouldnt get custody of DD, but it would be very sad if he were granted any visitation and if he put a block in our way to adopt. At this point, I have no idea if he is the father and just told him he has to contact social services...Of course its a hoilday today, so I can't get ahold of my social worker.
Just thought I'd put it out there...we need some prayers and encouragement today.

Oh my goodness!! How Scary! And having him know where you live....very equally scary!!!

Kristen, I was out of town, so I'm so sorry for responding late to this post. I sincerely hope that this doesn't pan out into anything that will cause problems for you, your daughter, or your adoption process in the future. It's sounds absolutely horrifying, and I can't imagine the fear and anxiety it must have caused.
And here, I was hoping you were out of town refreshing! I'm so sorry this hit the fan.
Please give us an update when you get the chance. In the meantime, you'll definitely be in my thoughts and prayers.
