Hi ladies! I've been a bit of a lurker around here and thought I should officially introduce myself! I wish I had done this sooner and had been chatting more often! I met an amazing group of ladies on the knot when I was wedding planning and I'm sure it would be the same on here.
Kraig and I are expecting our LO December 28 and are super excited. I can't believe December is just around the corner! At least it feels that way!
Oh, and if there is a GD group around here, go ahead and add me to your roster! I took my one hour today and found out that it was sooo bad I get to skip the 3 hour and go straight to the finger pricking and lovely diet. Yep, I just finished throwing my pity party about it. Now I'm ready to get it under control!
Re: Hi December Mamas
Just wanted to say hi and welcome! I'm also due on 12/28, and I was also recently diagnosed w/ GD. I haven't had my appointment w/ the dietician yet so just trying to be "good" and limit carbs and sugars until I get my glucometer.
I tend to be more of a lurker than a poster on here, as well as on the high risk board during the week and try to post more regularly on the weekends when I have more time. I've gotten some great advice on this board every once in a while re GD, but the high risk board tends to have more chatter about this issue.
Have a nice weekend!
Thanks for the welcome and the suggestion for the high risk board. I looked and there seems to be a handful of GD posts; I'm sure I'll get some really good advise.
And yay for a due date twin!
Hello and welcome! I'm due 12/12 and also have GD. My fasting number was so bad that I was automatically diagnosed with it. Perfectly happy not to have to do the 3 hour, though. LOL! Having GD sucks hardcore but I'm only a week into it so hopefully things will look brighter soon.
Oh, I'm also in Portland as well!
Hi Kellog! Lol...we're in the same boat with skipping the 3 hour! You'll have to let me know how it goes for you...the first week is always the hardest right? I have yet to schedule my appointment and don't really know what to expect...other than a major overhaul in my diet that is. Which sounds incredibly overwhelming to me....eek.
Nice to meet a fellow Portlander! Do you post on the Oregon board too?
