9 weeks and m/s just began

I really thought I got lucky and was going to bypass the whole ms phase. ha! Today it happened. And since 11am ive been in bed.

I've been having ice chips..but anything else makes me sick. I've tried a few ritz and they go down ok, but 5 minutes later ...uh oh.

Suggestions?

  • No suggestions, but I feel your pain.  I'm almost 9 weeks.  For the last couple weeks I've had some general nausea, but felt pretty decent.  Then this week the morning sickness has really hit me.  I've been in my recliner since noon, working from my laptop.  Right now I'm feeling hungry, but I am scared to eat anything.  I just hope it gets better soon.

  • The only thing that helps me feel better is to eat about every 30 minutes to an hour. If I let myself get too hungry it makes my nausea far worse. Deep breathing also seems to help a little bit.

Good luck to you and hope it goes away soon!

  • Two questions:

    1. How do I know its not a bug and really is ms? My FI just asked me..

    2. At what point do I call the Ob and ask for zofran or something similar?

  • Popsicles?  Or the frozen sorbets?  Golfish crackers and animal crackers seem to help me a bit.  My morning sickness is an all day thing...sucks.  Hope you start to feel better.
  • Mine started at 4 weeks and here I am at 9 weeks still suffering!  I am on Zofran 4mg and it helps but does not make it go away.  I still vomit at leat 1-3 times a day.  what has been working for myself is bagel chips, cheerios, sprite, gatorade.  I hope you find something that works for you!
  • Oh no, You have made me nervous!!  I have not have m/s but have had general nausea off and on for a while now.  I am still crossing my fingers that I am able to avoid it but I am scared for the upcoming days now!  GOOD LUCK!

    My thoughts are

    1.  a couple of days should let you know if it's a bug.  If you aren't feeling better within 48 hours, it's more likely m/s.

    2.  If you really can't keep food down, you need to figure out some way to make sure that you stay hydrated and get your nutrients.  I'd call Monday after lunch if you aren't feeling any better/haven't found non-medicinal ways to cope.

    Hope you feel better!
