PT Regression?

Reagan had an accident yesterday and today at school. She simply didn't tell anyone that she needed to go.

I'm trying to take a step back and out of the situation because I am frustrated by it.

Anyone go through this? Any suggestions?

Re: PT Regression?

  • Kaitlyn does occasionally.  She'll just not go because she's too busy doing something fun.  She typically goes back to being dry all day/night after one or two times... I haven't figured out any kind of trigger for it though.  :/

  • Yep.  O had one weekend where he completely regressed and had accidents all day.  I even received a note from daycare saying he needed to go back in pull ups.  It was very frustrating.  But I resisted the urge to make a big deal about it and he was back to normal within a week.  Though he does still occasionally have accidents, especially if he's playing outside and doesn't feel like going in.  I assume that will end as he gets older and matures.
  • I have many students at school who are potty trained that have accidents. Typically the problem is they simply forget. They forget to take breaks from playing and learning to take bathroom breaks. I would ask you school to set up a toileting routine with her. Maybe every 90 minutes go sit on the potty and try. Even if it is just sitting for 2 minutes. B/c when she gets in the bathroom she has to stop and think about toileting. At that point she has time to concentrate on if she really has to go or not.

GL! Hope she overcomes it quickly.
