Babies on the Brain

Soooo how unoriginal is a nursery

decorated in vintage winnie the pooh?  I just feel like it's pretty gender neutral and can be done without going over the top.  Thoughts?

  • Unless you're planning to enter contests with your baby's room - do what you want. Overrated/overdone = irrelevant.

  • I love Winnie the Pooh (vintage and all other versions), so I say go for it.  Who cares what others think.
  • My other thought is velveteen rabbit

  • I think that could be super cute! And you'd be able to find stuff for it too.

  • Who cares if it is original or not?  If you like it, that's what counts.  I think Pooh is timeless.

  • You also don't really need a theme for the nursery.  You could pick a couple of colors that you like and then do some winnie the pooh and some velveteen rabbit.  I definitely like looser themes, if you use a theme (ex: vintage children's books rather than one specific book).

But, I think it only matters that you like it (you are the one who will be in there at 3am!).

velveteen rabbit is a super sweet book to include in the room, I think.

  • You're the one that has to sit and rock the wee one in it. I say whatever you like is fine.

  • I always thought I'd have a classic pooh nursery until I was KU. I do have two canvas prints on the wall with classic pooh, but that's it. I found a gender neutral bedding set that I liked much better and that's what we went with.

It's your nursery, decorate it however you want.

  • I don't like the pale (washed-out) colors of the vintage pooh, and honestly I really don't like Pooh himself. But, DH is a HUGE Tigger fan, and I'm a HUGE Eeyore fan, so a lot of those 2 will factor in to my decor.

    Do what makes YOU happy!
