Babies on the Brain

CD day one

today is Sals first day in CD's. I love them! he look so cute and he no longer screams like hes being torturered when he wakes up from his naps with a dirty diaper. i wish it wasnt so cold and rainy here. id leave him in the diaper only all day!

if you CD how long to you wait to wash them? when you have a load full or every X amount of days no matter how many are dirty?

  • I am washing every 2-3 days. I wouldn't recommend going any longer than that, and most brands recommend no more than 25 in a load at one time. We have enough diapers that every 3 days is fine.

Not really.  I have a HE washer and the cycles are pretty quick.  I line dry them, outside in nice weather, inside when I have to.  That gets old sometimes to be honest.  But if I really want to, I just toss them in the dryer instead.

  • I wash about every three days.Initially I washed on Sundays and Thursdays to stay sane, but now I'm so used to washing them, it doesnot feel like more of a chore to wash them.

Good luck. I'm happy to hear that you like cloth diapering. My child is going on two and we've been CDing since six weeks. We are potty training and I think CDing will only help progress it.
