Dr. Browns v. Tommee Tippee Bottles

Any preferences?  We have read differing reviews and are just trying to figure out which bottles to register for.

Thanks!

Re: Dr. Browns v. Tommee Tippee Bottles

  • Register for small packs of both.  I wanted to love Dr Browns but they were a disaster for my son- made him spit up constantly.  I had over $100 of them from shower that I had to give away.  I did not like the Tommee Tippee for him either- too much dripping.  By the way, I know tons of people that love Dr B and TT and they work great for their babies.  Born Free ended up being the only ones that worked for us.

  • Register for small packs of a few different types of bottles (2 or 3 packs).  Every baby is different and will prefer one brand over another, so you can't really go off of reviews.  We registered for small packs of Dr. Brown's, Tommy Tippee, Avent, and Born Free.
  • We tried both of those...  and didn't like them.  We also ended up with glass Born Free bottles - after trying medela, tommy tippee, dr. brown's and avent.

  • Ditto everyone else....register for multiple brands.  Your baby will have a preference, and if they don't show it, their tummies will.  We tried Tommee, Dr. Brown, Breastflow, and Playtex dropins.......and ended up a Dr. Brown family.  (Although my mother watches DS during the day and he will take a Playtex bottle if we forget to bring over a Dr. Brown)

  • get several. We have medela, Dr.Brown's and avent. ds doesn't care and they all are fine for him. lucky us.
  • DS ended up hating BornFree and loves Tommee Tippee....I agree with the previous posters. Try 2 different kinds to start, and go from there!

  • agree with pp.  Tommee Tippee and Nuby worked for us.  We tried a Dr. Browns wide neck after hearing so much about it but it was the only one to cause nipple confusion so we stopped an switched back immediately.

  • We went to the store and looked at bottles and ended up buying three types. We like the Tommee Tippee the best (and ha, DH thinks it 'looks the most like me'. The baby isn't terribly picky, but she definitely prefers it to the Avent bottles we tried too.
