So, I recently read that studies have shown women who take decongestants (the ones on the safe list) during pregnancy have a decreased rate of preterm labor. I have been unable to find anything on effects once the woman is no longer in preterm risk. Has anyone heard if decongestants would put off labor beyond preterm status? I was having contractions 15-25 minutes apart for several days last week, and the doctor said I may be starting early labor. Sunday (late Saturday actually) all contractions completely stopped, and there has been no sign of progress since. My allergies have been HORRENDOUS this week, and I've been having to take Chlortrimetron somewhat regulary for 2-3 days. I put off taking it until I can't stand it anymore, as I cannot breathe through my nose and am constantly sneezing. Just wondering if I should continue to put off taking anything until I can't take the lack of breathing through my nose anymore (if it would put off labor starting, I will just suffer), or take it as truly needed...
