Babies: 6 - 9 Months

FFFC

I had the most wonderful c/s.  I want another one.  I have no desire to push a baby out.

  • Eh I think thats a personal thing.  I know people would judge it, but I don't think they should.  There is no pretty/pain free way to have a baby.  If I had a CS, I wouldn't try a v-bac, for me its just not worth the risk.  When my sister and friend asked my opinion on if they should try for one, I told them no.  But I respect people who do want to try.

why? the new research is saying women should try.

ACOG just said that a woman should have a trial of labor because the risks are so small.

  • I am the exact opposite of you! I'm scared to death of a csection! I was in active labor for 32 hours, I delivered a 9 lb baby, and had a 3rd degree episiotomy. I busted my stitches my 3rd day home, I had to have one redone 1 week after I gave birth and I would still choose my vaginal delivery.  More power to you!
  • I got a post-op infection after mine, recovery sucked balls, and I'm STILL sitting pretty in too posh to push land, pointing and giggling at the ladies waiting for the VBAC bus.

  • I had an all natural 24 hour labor and I am scared to death of a c-section! I would much rather experience the pain or hard part before the baby arrives then after.

  • I was sooo afraid of going into labor before my c/s. I am glad I had one and didn't have to experience labor pains. Cody was 9 lbs, 13 oz at 39 weeks. I am petite, and I don't care what other people say I honestly believe if I had tried to deliver vaginally that it would have never happened and I would have wound up with a c-section anyways. I am glad I went ahead and did a scheduled c/s.
  • I was told that I am the prefect VBAC candidate and I asked.. Do I have to?

I'm petite, and my son was almost 9lbs.  His head was actually stuck - he couldn't make it out, though not for lack of trying.  Poor kid was pointy-headed after a c-section, AND they needed to use forceps to get him out.

Same here.  My Dr. said I could try to have a VBAC and I told him that I would not want one.  the Csection, for me this time was cake and so was my recovery.  I may eat my words the next time, but for right now I'm sticking with csections.

  • I wouldn't be afraid either way to have another baby, c-section or vaginally.  I was induced because of preclampsia and having protein in my urine and the start time of when they induced me to the time I had the baby it was a little over 28 hours.  My epidural didn't fully work, so I felt contractions and when the baby came out there was no pressure like you should feel with an epidural, it was pain.

  • I had the exact opposite of what you would call a typical deliver and recovery.  I didn't have to care for a baby until he was 3 weeks old.  I had the best recovery EVER.  I will absolutely entertain the idea of a VBAC and all natural, but I have given up on the homebirth idea.  It's too risky for me given my history.
