Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Gym Daycare

I've decided if I'm going to lose these last 8 pounds I have to do a group exercise class everyday (good thing they are fun), but the days DH has to work I'm going to have to drop him off at the gym daycare.

Today is the first day and I'm super nervous leaving him there. There are a ton of babies under 1 (they have their own separate room) and I know I'm going to be worried about him. How can I calm my nerve in less than an hour so I can feel comfortable leaving him there?

Re: Gym Daycare

  • I use the daycare at my gym. When I have used it, I don't stay longer than an hour. Enough for me to get my small workout in and have someone to watch Emma. When I pick her up she is always happy.

  • I just started using the daycare at my gym, too-- she LOVES it... there are other babies for her to play with and the people who watch her are all education majors from the local college which is cool.  I never stay longer than 45 min - and hour, usually she is so busy playing that when I leave the room to workout she doesn't even know I am gone!  It will be fine, do your workout and don't sweat the daycare!

  • My DD also loves being at the gym daycare!  I'm a SAHM so I think it's important for her to be around other kids once in a while.  She goes for 90 minutes 3-4 times per week and is always happy as a clam when I pick her up.

Since you're doing a class, this probably doesn't apply, but our gym has TVs in all of the cardio machines and one of the channels is a video feed of the child care center.  I can always check to see what DD is up to.
