I have a black cloud over me, i know it.

So of course we got slammed w/ tons of rain yesterday and last night and as luck would have it our power went out in the middle of the night for hours!  Not only did that wake up DS who then had to sleep w/ us, although there was no sleeping going on but since the power went out so did our sump pump.  Our basement is FLOODED!  Everything is ruined, all my rubber maid bins i stacked on top of one another all fell down and are turned sideways and floating.  All of DS's clothes, toys, infant car seat, memorabilia from my dad, decorations etc... all ruined.  Crying 

Honestly, i'm not sure if my luck will ever change.  this black cloud just doesn't want to leave me.  :o(  i'm so upset. my mom is coming over now to help w/ the cleanup.  sigh.  this sucks.

    yikes. I'm so sorry it seems to literally be pouring down right now. I hope things turn around quickly and there isn't to much damage from this flood.

    awe thanks for offering help.  :o) my mom and i spent all morning trying to save what we could.  i managed to save some bins of DS's clothes so i'm happy for that.  but most of my pics are gone. :o(  and it's before the days of digital cameras so those pics are gone for good.  I can't do anymore now b/c i'm beat.  i'll wait till DH comes home to work on it again.

    That really blows.  I hope insurance will help you recoup the stuff that you can put a price on ...  SOrry about the memorabilia though :(

    So sorry your basement flooded and you lost power. That rain we had was crazy. My street floods like crazy and I had problems getting to work. I think I have the same black cloud because a giant tree branch fell on our skylights and caused them to leak.
