Bruised/ broken ribs

My baby B is laying on top of baby A right under my breasts. My Peri said he doest;t think they will move from that position at this point in the pregnancy.

Baby B kicks in the same spot all the time right in my ribs to the left and Im pretty sure its bruised at this point. I'm afraid that when she gets bigger if she's still hanging out n the same place it will end up breaking.

Did many of you experience broken ribs? Is it more common in multiple pregnancies?

Re: Bruised/ broken ribs

  • I've had it all through out my pregnancy...it's like my ribs feel broken. It does go away and come back again. It usually hurts more after i eat. Hope it goes away at least for a bit to give you some relief. I put my arms up and lay on the opposite side of the pain when it happens. It makes them move and gives you some relief.

  • My baby B has been up in my ribs for a few weeks now.  So I guess I'm in the same boat hoping the pain doesn't get worse.  I get pressure, discomfort and sometimes tingling in my ribs.  Not fun :(  I agree with the PP that putting my arms up and changing positions helps sometimes.  Hope you get some relief!

  • Mine aren't broken but someone sure is trying to get them to move further up than they are already! I can't tell which baby it is. Sure does hurt and I agree about raising your arms to help the pain.
  • I'm with you. Baby B is doing a number on me by trying to push my ribs out of the way. I actually haven't felt any kicks yet, but I still have the soreness and tenderness in that area.
  • There's hope. I was in your exact same position. I'm 25 weeks and 2 days. Yesterday I was so miserable, they were moving like crazy. Today I went for  a sono and apparently yesterday they moved to side by side, heads up and feet down. It is far more manageable and the doc says they will probably stay like this.
