TTC After a Loss

Normally, I give DH's new diets a big eyeroll, but this is good

He has tried everything. We did the Warrior Diet for about a year, which was eating only one big meal a day. That didn't last, now he's doing some primal thing where you only eat what we ate when humans were hunter-gatherers: meat, fruit, vegetables-no grains or even beans.

But when he told me about this book I told him to order ASAP.

The 4-Hour Body by Timothy Ferris (author of The 4-Hour Work Week):

Check it out:

YOU WILL LEARN (in less than 30 minutes each):

How to lose those last 5-10 pounds (or 100+ pounds) with odd combinations of food and safe chemical cocktails.

How to prevent fat gain while bingeing (X-mas, holidays, weekends)
How to increase fat-loss 300% with a few bags of ice
How Tim gained 34 pounds of muscle in 28 days, without steroids, and in four hours of total gym time
How to sleep 2 hours per day and feel fully rested
How to produce 15-minute female orgasms Yes
How to triple testosterone, double sperm count, and (literally) have sex like a porn star
How to go from running 5 kilometers to 50 kilometers in 12 weeks
How to reverse permanent injuries
How to add 150+ pounds to your lifts in 6 months
How to pay for a beach vacation with one hospital visit

For a $15 book it's worth a shot, right?

My husband and I actually have been doing the Paleo (primal) diet for over two years now. Combining that with exercise and I lost 40 lbs. There's actually a lot of science behind it.

I agree. I haven't read the book yet, but I can understand the theory. We hardly eat any processed foods-mainly meat, vegetables, fruit and a little dairy. I eat carbs still but only whole grain when I can. I feel so much better when I eat like this.

ETA: The eyeroll is more that he is constantly coming up with a new diet guru book to buy. If he stuck with one that worked for 2 years I would be thrilled!

But you're going to DIE. Of CHOLESTEROL and HYPERTENSION and SATURATED FAT and MEAT OVERDOSE and DEATH RAWR DESTRUCTION!!!!!!!!!! Didn't your DOCTOR tell you that?!?!?!

Hmmm. I read the post and thought you were kidding. Some of the claims seem a bit rediculous.

However, the concept of eating clean must produce results - that worked for me. (Until I fell off the wagon)

I wish you and DH all the best. Keep us posted.

Edit: Actually, I take it back. I think that the book is probably garbage. "Safe chemical cocktails?" This is a joke right?

Those claims all sound a bit too good to be true.

But, if that 15 minute female orgasm thing works out, I'll buy the farm, not just the book Party!!!

This. Most of it sounds a bit nuts. I can't remember what book this is from but I like the "eat food, not too much, mostly plants" all about eating real unprocessed food and not overloading on animal fats. Makes tons of sense...now if only I could successfully practice it!
