Full name for Cora? Clicky Poll

Thanks for all your help with my name list this morning, ladies! I appreciate it so very much! It raised the topic of discussion between me and DH- why not just plain Cora? DH thinks it sounds too sharp with our very strong sounding German name, and I tend to agree. So what name with the nn of Cora do you like best?

    I love the name Coraline.  I think it's so pretty.  Unfortunately my DH didn't agree with me so it's totally off of our list, but I think it's perfect and a great way to get the nn Cora.

    I love Corinne and it's my favorite on your list, but it's best on its own. I don't think it needs a NN.

    Coralie is a pretty full name for Cora as a NN.

    In the word orally the emphasis is on the first syllable. In the name Coralie the emphasis is on the last syllable: cor-ah-LEE. They don't really rhyme.

    Ah, I was mispronouncing it then. However, OP, I still prefer Coraline.  Good luck!

    I like them all. My favorite is Corinne. The only problem with Coraline is that people will see it and mistake it for Caroline. People mispronounce and spell DD's name all of the time, but I still love it so I don't mind.

    I have a student this year named Coralis (Cora-lease) and I think that is a really pretty name.  Teachers call her Coralis but her friends call her Cora.  Just another idea for you!

    It depends on which name story you want really...while I love the sound of Coralie, the word lie gets me. I have an Emmeline and am a big Coraline fan, but this name would trace it's roots back to a movie and a book (which my sister read and said it was not well-written).

    Anyway, I voted for Coraline based on the visual, but if you want a name with older roots, then go with Coralie.

     I have to jump in on this - I can't attest to the book, but I was turned on to the movie by a Neil Gaiman fan (author of the book) and the movie is amazing. It's a wonderful (albeit a bit scary for younger ones) kid's story.

    Love, love, love Coraline. If I waiver on matilda which is our #1 girl name it would be for Coraline. I'm just worried about her forever being called Caroline though.

    If I had to pick a full name, I would probably go with Coraline
