Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Anyone else think Yobaby yogurt tastes "funny"?

So, we decided to try Yobaby yogurt for DS.  I bought the blueberry and figured I would give him a few bites to try today.  First of all, when I opened it it was really watery.  That's okay, I just mixed it up.  But the consistency never really got to where it seemed like yogurt.  I checked the expiration and it is fine.  I realize that it is organic and that it is baby food, but I tried it and wasn't too impressed.  DS didn't mind it, but I threw it away half way through.  Anyone else try it?  What did you think?  I think next time I will get a different flavor.

  • I think it has a lot less sugar than the "grown up" kind.  I bought Banilla for myself because I though it sounded good.  It was not.

  • Hmmmm....I think it's delicious, actually.  Super-creamy and not too sweet.  I've never bought the blueberry, though, so maybe that's it?  We have the banana flavor right now and for every bite I give Grady, I usually take one too!

If you like a thicker yogurt, though, Trader Joe's makes one that is awesome.

I don't know what's up with my siggy and I am too lazy to figure it out.
  • I tried yobaby when Ethan was 6 months old and he hated it. I tried it and thought the same thing it was gross. But I wanted him to have yogurt because its so good for him. So I just went and bought a tub of plain full-fat yogurt and then added his fruit purees to it and a little oatmeal (or any cereal) and he loved it from the very first spoonful now that's what he get every morning! and it doesn't have as much sugar.
  • So on a regular basis I eat plain unsweetened yogurt...well I bought the plain yobaby for Noah and I almost vomited when I tasted it.

  • DD just started with the vanilla this week and she loved it.  And, um, I sort of did too Embarrassed.  I was kind of happy when she didn't want to finish the last couple bites.  I will admit, the consistency was a bit too watery, but I figured it had something to do with it being "baby" yogurt.

  • We thought it tasted nasty.  Henry didn't like it but it also turns out that he has a dairy allergy so the issue was moot.

  • E absoulutely loves it.  It might taste strange because I'm sure you're used to fat-free yogurt.

I'm on the lookout for organic full fat yogurt without sugar though.

This. We had Organic Banana & Peach. I thought it was.. 'light' instead of watery.

Thanks for the great idea!  So glad you guys have had similar experiences.  I was hoping I didn't just get a bad batch.
